My fiction writing, which most often takes the form of collections of episodic short stories, is heavily influenced by my identity as a transgender woman.  Having initially discovered this identity due to the process of my writing, it has since informed my writing in a multitude of ways, from the prevalence of queer characters in my stories to my varied attempts to experiment with and push the boundaries of gender fluidity and nonconformance.  Through this exploration of gender nonconformance and queer identity, I seek to explore larger questions about how an individual’s identity interacts with the people and environment around them.
